We are building!

Gainesville Cohousing is 6 years old! This last year has proved to be our biggest year yet and we are rapidly growing every single day! In January, we broke ground and the infrastructure process was started. Our property looked like a very exciting moonscape as EarthWorx did all the important below and above ground work, getting us ready for the building process. They went above and beyond helping us achieve our vision, even saving wood for us to use later in the community! We are so thankful to have them as our partners in this process.In the summer, we began building our very first structure, our workshop! It was incredible to see it go up so fast after working for so long to make it happen. But nothing compares to the vision of watching our very first homes go up! The foundation is laid and the work has begun on several of our homes and they are gorgeous! For the members of our community, watching these homes be built brings tears to our eyes. It has been 2,190 plus days of organizing, meeting, voting, choosing, and collaborating that got us here. We are so thankful to every single professional that has spent long hours contributing to our community. We are most thankful for each other and the hard work each and every one of us put in to build our neighborhood and make our dream come true! After 6 years, we are truly made of iron!
