A Celebration for Gainesville Cohousing
Gainesville Cohousing is celebrating with a family fun day. The cause for this celebration is the recent purchase of 4.75 acres in northwest Gainesville – bringing the group one step closer to the reality of a cohousing community in Gainesville.
The purchase will lead to a cooperative, sustainable and inter-generational community. The property is within walking distance to great shopping and restaurants, including Thornebrook Village, as well as an excellent school zone.
The family fun day – a free event for the community – will take place on March 16 from 2-4 p.m. at United Church of Gainesville. It will include food, activities, child care and a chance for individuals and families to learn more about our project of building a family-friendly, sustainable and cooperative neighborhood in Gainesville, FL.
The Gainesville Cohousing community will have 24 new homes, a communal pool and a common house for socializing, shared meals and celebrations. There are already 11 families that plan to live there. Construction of the community should begin towards the end of 2014.
Please feel free to download and print out our flyer for the event if you would like to share this with your friends or coworkers.
