April 29th – National Cohousing Open House Day!
This Sunday, April 29th, is National Cohousing Open House Day!
It’s a day when cohousing communities across the United States, including Gainesville Cohousing, open their doors and welcome people to learn more about their intentional neighborhood. Visitors will experience the sights and sounds of what a cohousing community is really like by talking with neighbors and walking the grounds. The day not only invites the neighbors of local communities to share and become an extended part of the group, but it is also an opportunity for prospective cohousing members to experience a variety of ways to envision cooperative living and encourages the development of new communities. Established and built cohousing groups will use the day as an opportunity to show off their community and give tours of their common facilities. Some communities that are just forming will use it as an outreach event to gain new members and will host a talk or workshop in their city.
We are doing something a little in between. As you may know, we are currently under construction, so we are not able to invite the public to see all of the great progress we are making. So we decided to bring our growing neighborhood to you! We will be hosting a Facebook Live event this Sunday at Noon. A few of our members will be giving a tour of our cohousing community using live video. You will be able to virtually walk through the property, see inside a home or two, and even ask questions, all from the comfort of your home.
Follow these two steps to make sure you don’t miss our live Facebook event!
- Before noon on Sunday make sure you have Liked and are Following the Gainesville Cohousing Facebook page (www.facebook.com/
gainesvillecohousing). - At Noon on Sunday April 29th, log on to Facebook and you will see a notification that we are Live and follow that link or just go to our page.
